Remember that time I brought a cat into the office?
Right now I’m living in one of those times where I can’t wait for it to be the past tense. It’s getting there, just not soon enough.
It all started when I said I’d take this cat, Memphis. A couple girls I know were watching him after his owners left him behind when they moved. These girls couldn’t keep him, though, and that’s where I came in.
I originally picked him up Monday and took him back to my apartment. He wasn’t happy, but that’s to be expected. Then he found out a lady cat was there and went crazy.
This was my mistake. I took home a cat who wasn’t fixed. A cat who began to run around my room yowling and spraying.
I was able to take him back temporarily and immediately set out to make him a vet appointment. I got him in as soon as possible, early Thursday morning.
The problem here is that the girls he was staying with had to leave town Wednesday morning, otherwise known as this morning. So I picked him up and, unable to leave him at my apartment, took him to work with me.
That’s where we are now. it took three hours for him to calm down, and the day isn’t even over yet. In an hour, I’ll have to leave for the day ad the only place to go is back to my apartment where I fear a repeat of Monday night. This could be a very sleepless night.
So I’m looking forward to tomorrow when today becomes yesterday and hopefully Memphis becomes a much calmer kitty.
